Headache

Most adults experience it at some time or other. Quite a high proportion of the population in Western countries regularly suffer from headache such as tension and cluster headaches, and migraine.

These three are known as primary headaches and even though they do cause considerable discomfort to sufferers, they are seldom life-threatening. Tension headaches may be triggered by stress, incorrect posture and even aggression or outbursts of anger. Migraine may be with or without aura and has symptoms ranging from pain on one side of the head and impaired vision, to nausea and vomiting. A significant feature of cluster headaches is that they occur in cycles or clusters, which give the condition its name.
