Depression may be divided into several main types, ranging from major depression and postpartum depression to the appropriately named SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder. Most adults suffer from one form of depression or another during the course of their lives, but children and particularly teenagers may have symptoms such as hostility and irritability, which, although usually put down to puberty, may in fact be a form of depression.
The other signs and symptoms of depression are as varied as those who suffer from it, and can range from mood swings, and lack of motivation to anger and even aggression.
